FAQ

  • What is Dear Palestine?
The Dear Palestine Cookbook was created as an emergency fundraising response to the bombings that took place in Gaza in May 2021. Wanting to provide a sense of support from London all the way to Palestine, Layla Hassanali decided to put together a charity recipe book with a collection of chefs, restaurants and food businesses who were in full support of Palestine. In under a week, we managed to put together an 87-page book with a huge range of recipes from Palestinian to Filipino to Egyptian. All recipes have been kindly donated by chefs as are the accompanying images and design. All sales from the pdf book will be donated to the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) charity and we hope that we can raise enough funds to provide life saving support to those who have been affected by the bombings.
  • What recipes are in the book?
Well, we don't want to spoil it but the book contains over 25 recipes that will take you from starters all the way to desserts. There are a range of different cuisines thanks to the diverse group of chefs who are on board with this project.
  • Why MAP?
MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) is a reputable charity that have been around for 30 years. In that time, they have provided life saving medical care to all Palestinians who may have struggled to access a hospital as they live under occupation. They are working with partners out there right now to supply dressings and fluids and essential medications to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) alongside their usual support to the blood bank.
  • How do I get a copy of the book?
If you head to the "Buy The Book" page, you will be able to make a donation (minimum £5). In doing so, you will receive an email which will contain a download link for your pdf recipe book. Please check your spam account if you did not recieve an email.
